This week we lost a great friend, customer, open mic performer, and the best hype man in Kalamazoo. Jeffrey Lillard, also known by his poet name "Dark Blue", passed away earlier this week tragically. Jeff was instrumental in helping our weekly open mic nights takeoff and blossom at Satellite Records. He was our first regular participant and showed up every week enthusiastically ready to share what he had written in the week before and encouraged everyone he met. This Thursday for open mic we hope people come show their support for one another during this difficult time. Jeffrey would never want his friends or fellow poets to stop writing, sharing, and confidently being YOU. Thank you for shining so bright for all to see!
